Beth Danowsky, RD, CLC

Beth is a Registered Dietitian with over 8 years of experience working with individuals and families to improve their quality of life through nutrition therapy and lifestyle change.  She is currently working towards her master's degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, which emphasizes a partnership between patient and practitioner.  She is also a Certified Lactation Counselor and yoga instructor.  Beth's approach to coaching is tailored to the individual or group and utilizes strategies that focus on nutrition, stress management, physical activity and sleep.

She received her B.S. in Dietetics with Distinction and Honors from Iowa State University in 2005, graduating in the top 2% of her class.

Beth started her career in Denver, Colorado where she worked for over 4 years for the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). It was here that she studied to become a Certified Lactation Counselor and gained additional credentials from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in Adolescent and Childhood Weight Management. She also gained experience working with a diversity of individuals and families, helping them to meet their personal health goals while maintaining their cultural identities and beliefs. During her years in Denver, Beth was also fortunate to spend time at a high-end fitness club where she offered her nutrition expertise to both professional and recreational athletes and taught spinning, yoga and Pilates classes.

In 2010, Beth was offered an opportunity to move to and work in Germany for the WIC Overseas Program. She not only worked as a manager of the program and counselor to families, but also enriched her cultural understanding of nutrition and health. It was here that she took certification courses in Metabolic Typing and Intuitive Eating that set the stage for her passion for Functional Medicine, a research-based approach to health care that first addresses the underlying cause of disease.

In 2014, Beth decided to continue her education and has begun working towards her master's in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. She believes in a therapeutic partnership between client and practitioner that involves collaboration for setting and reaching health goals.

In her free time, you can find Beth practicing or teaching Yoga, hiking, gardening, blogging, cooking or enjoying the beach. She also loves to travel and has lived in 3 different countries and traveled to well over 20.
