Global Juice Fasting Day

Today is the first ever Global Juice Fasting Day! What a perfect day to bring awareness to the health benefits, and wonderful taste, of fresh vegetable and fruit juices. And, for those of you who have never juiced before what a great day to try it!

Why Juice?

  • it’s an easy, tasty way for you to get your recommended daily amount of fruits and vegetables
  • it’s a great way to re-charge and rejuvenate
  •  your body doesn’t need to waste any energy on digestion, so all those wonderful plant nutrients will give you a wonderful energy buzz!

Fresh Ingredients

Beets, carrots, apples, oranges, pineapple, celery and cucumber are all wonderful foods to juice.

I created this recipe this morning and it’s perfect for those who are new to juicing, because it is naturally sweet and oh so delicious!

Sweet Sensation: makes two large (28oz) juices

  • 4 large carrots
  • 2 organic apples*
  • 2 medium cucumbers
  • 3 thick slices of pineapple
  • 1 medium orange

Cut the ingredients in half, put them in your juicer and serve in large glasses; it’s that easy! Serving fresh juices with ice is an absolute must, so I usually fill my 28oz Blender Bottle half way to the top with crushed ice before serving.

Some Tips on how to make your juice even tastier and healthier:

  • juice a piece of peeled ginger (a match-boxed size piece is plenty) or add a few drops of pure liquid ginger before serving (available from most health food stores)
  • add crushed mint before serving
  • drink as soon after juicing as possible
