IMUA at the Wanderlust Festival!

Have you ever heard of Wanderlust – not the movie, but the real-life festival!?  Wanderlust is a unique festival bringing together the world’s leading yoga teachers and top musicians, set in beautiful locations all around the world.  This year, for the first time since its inception, Wanderlust came to Hawaii’s shores, and IMUA jumped at the opportunity to be a part of a fun-filled festival to which people flock from all over the world.

IMUA at Wanderlust

Dr Gesik and I proudly wearing our new IMUA shirts at the 2013 Wanderlust Festival, Oahu.

Early Saturday morning, March 2nd, Dr Gesik and I made our way to Turtle Bay Resorts, on the North Shore of Oahu, each equipped with our yoga mat and an open mind! Despite being somewhat drained from the previous night’s celebrations; we embraced a good couple of hours of yoga asanas, as well as learning more about chakras, the pelvic floor, yoga alignment and Ayurveda. The class with Jennifer Lynn was really great, focusing on alignment and how to use yoga in a safe and therapeutic way.

We were also happy to enjoy a delicious Vegan meal from the Beet Box Cafe who thankfully had a tent set up as part of the festival. Beet Box Cafe is a great Vegetarian restaurant in Haleiwa, at the back of the Celestial Natural Foods Store – be sure to check it out if you’re in search of a healthy stop on the North Shore.

As an aspiring yoga teacher, I’m so thankful to IMUA for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this festival and learn from some of the best yogis in the world. If you want to learn more about the festival you can check it out at http://oahu.wanderlustfestival.com/.
